RAI advantages

The mission of Riga Aeronautical Institute is to prepare highly qualified specialists for modern and quickly developing industries such as, in the first place, civil aviation and transport. The employers in these spheres are the first to introduce new tehnologies into their everyday operations, which, in its turn, requires appropriate specialists with academic education ready to perform their work independently. Professional academic education is not sufficient for these specialists, they also require specific rights to fulfil their functions immediately aftre graduation and be responsible for the results from the legal point of view. This means, that the specialists need approved licenses or certificates, confirming their professional skills.

Taking into account the above said, RAI has significantly enhanced the practical component of the study programs, when elaborating the specialists’ preparation strategy. For this purpose the institute has created and certified several professional training organizations in accordance with the requirements of international institutions. After being trained in these organizations, the students in addition to practical component of the study program also have a possibility to receive licence or certificate which gives them the right to start the work in the appropriate industry.

RAI has created the following organizations:
• Air Traffic Service Training Organization (ATS TO);
• Aircraft Maintenance Training Organization (MTO);
• Electronic Equipment Maintetnance Training Organization (EEM);
• Approved Training Organization (ATO).

These organizations are created and audited in accordance with the requirements of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Latvian Civil Aviation Agency rules and requirements. Certificates and licenses issued by RAI organizations are valid in all EU countries.

Successful practical training which is a part of the study program gives a possibility for the students to receive a license or a certificate. It is an additional competitive advantage for RAI graduates, which is confirmed by statistical data about the employment of RAI graduates. There are no non-employed or people doing a job different from a chosen one.

We are sure that as the time passes employers will increase their demand for those specialists which in addition to professional study program will have high level practical skills.
